50 cent Clutch and scarf!

Yesterday I spent a day between re-purposing and deciding if i wanted a blog with ability to make money. More importantly I like having somewhere to jot down my amazing ideas... Yesterday I revamped an old clutch purse and made a Chunky  Eternity Scarf. I was very proud of my self so here we go with instructions and tips as well as picture. I am completely determined to let my creativity take me on an adventure i never planned that will be all for the better.

Step One, You already know this but your going to need an old purse. You can even get them at your local thrift store for a dollar , one at the dollar store, or decide not to throw that purse away and think of ways you could make it better instead. Mine was used so well over the summer it just needed some TLC creativity. I also bought a shirt from my thrift store for 50 cents. I made sure it was material i thought would go good with the shape, color, and style of my old clutch.

Tools

  1. Hot glue,  and  Glue gun
  2. Sewing needle and thread.
  3. Old purse
  4. Scissors
  5. Material you like!
  6. Hair Band.

Step one decide where you want the bow. Cut a large Square and fold it over gluing end to make a loop. Then put the hair band where the knot on your bow is going to be. It makes the bow more poof. Then fold a smaller loop at the hair band placement and stitch ends to tightness. Carefully decide on placement for the bow. I decided on stitching and gluing a long piece of material across the clutch and tucked the cut ends in. I then glues that piece on and stitched, and glues the bow in the middle. It turned out quiet well!!!! It looks classy and it only cost me 50 cent because i already had the other materials laying around my house.
Here you can see before and after!
I then took the leftover material and made a scarf. I cute the shirt in a way to make a giant loop. As if you just cut the bottom off. I made a slight l shape while doing so and fringed the part sticking out. I then cut into the material and tied a knot to make a bow. About 5 inches into a 10 inch thick scarf. After words I took buttons from an old sweater i never wore and stitched and sew them onto my fringe chunk scarf! Walla. Two ways to re-purpose a 50 cent shirt. I love them both. Now when I find myself a white or black cami I will use the two together!
